Event description

Description

The 2017 Humanity in Action New York Conference is a regional gathering for Fellows, Senior Fellows, supporters and friends of Humanity in Action.

Please join us for a full day of talks, skills workshops, and networking with old friends, as well as other members of our community who are engaged in Humanity in Action's educational mission. We are focusing this year's New York Conference on "The State of the States," to survey public policy issues across a diverse group of U.S. states. Even though national politics dominate public debate, much of the battle for democratic freedoms, equality and human rights is on the state level. We will explore both political progress and retrenchment –– such as California's leadership on immigration and climate, and trans rights and "bathroom bills" in North Carolina and Texas.

Watch Humanity in Action's website for updates about the conference schedule in the coming weeks. The conference will include:

  • Keynotes and workshops on public policy challenges on the state-level
  • A reunion dinner with Humanity in Action Fellows and Senior Fellows
  • A happy hour on the opening night of the conference with friends of Humanity in Action

This event is by invitation only. If you would like to join but did not receive an invitation, please email us at usa@humanityinaction.org. For regular updates on topics, speakers and workshops, please visit our website.
