The 2017 Great American Cleanup has arrived and we are so excited to have you join our efforts to make Pinellas County a cleaner, greener and more beautiful place to live! Each year 80% of the debris entering our waterways is introduced from inland areas (streets, stormdrains, lakes, ponds, etc.) through our watersheds and into the global waterway, our oceans. We work diligently to help remove the waste from leaving a lasting impact within our natural ecosystems. Last year alone the Great American Cleanup and all of its volunteers assisted in removing 231,241.36 lbs of trash from Pinellas County. This year we hope you will help us to exceed this goal!
In an effort to combat this issue we partner with community groups and volunteers throughout the county to host community project (i.e. cleanups, invasive species, plantings, etc.) to address the many challenges to maintaining a clean and healthy community. Your support with these efforts will help to raise awareness in the community and remove harmful debris from entering into our waterways where it has the potential to harm our wildlife.
Please join us, Keep Pinellas Beautiful as we partner with City of St. Pete Beach for a rewarding day of community improvement, engagement, and beautification on Saturday, March 18th from 9:00 am - 11:00 am.
Note: Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection, and weather appropriate clothing. Cleanup supplies will be provided.
