2017 Early-career Sustainable Operations workshop
The third annual Environmentally Sustainable Supply Chain Management Workshop for Early-Career Faculty will be hosted by the Darden School of Business (University of Virginia), March 3-5, 2017, in partnership with the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and the Ray C. Anderson Center for Sustainable Business at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
Accomodations: We recommend participants stay at the Inn at Darden (http://www.innatdarden.com/). The hotel is located on the Darden campus and only a short walk from where the conference will be held. The special workshop rate is $125/night. To make a reservation, please call 434-243-5000 and ask for the Early-Career Sustainable Operations group block March 3rd to 5th. The block of rooms for the conference will be held until 2/1/17 or until they are filled (59 rooms were initially designated).
There is also a Residence Inn (1111 Milmont Street) located within walking distance of Darden, however, the walk is ~15 minutes and uphill.
Travel: For anyone flying to the conference, besides Charlottesville airport, you may also want to consider Richmond airport (1 1/2 hrs from Darden) and Dulles airport (2 hrs from Darden). Any attendees traveling a distance of 4 hours or less from Charlottesville, it will probably be easier to drive to the conference rather than fly. Note that participants living in the northeast may also want to consider traveling by train (Amtrak). It is fairly easy to travel to Charlottesville by train from Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York City.
