Event description

Description

The Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions, chaired by Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, will host its sixth annual Dallas Hunger Summit on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Join us for an opportunity to learn and strategize about how we can combat child hunger and senior hunger, promote a robust local agricultural sector and eliminate food deserts. We'll discuss specific ways the faith community can be more engaged, identify innovative healthy food access projects to rally behind, and share how all of us can make our voices heard on behalf of vital federal nutrition programs.

Speakers and panelists to include:

  • Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson
  • Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins
  • Larry James, CitySquare
  • Eddie Longoria, USDA Southwest Regional Office
  • Anga Sanders, Feed Oak Cliff
  • Clarice Criss, Nella Roots Gardening
  • Daron Babcock, Bonton Farms
  • Dr. Larry Terry, UNT Dallas Urban SERCH Institute
  • Rev. Virginia Holleman, St. Thomas Episcopal Church
  • And many more...

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of the movement for food equity in Dallas! Together we can ensure that all Dallas County residents have access to healthy food three meals a day, seven days a week.

$25 registration fee. Scholarships are available. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. Program begins at 9:00 a.m.
