2017 Collier County Ag Tour
Event Information
Description
Take a “Behind-the-Scenes” Tour of Collier County Agriculture Operations
The Collier County UF/IFAS Extension presents an all-day tour highlighting the vibrant agriculture of the region. This year the Ag Tour will be turning to the south end of the county to showcase a different selection of Collier County’s agricultural operations. Our route will include a major tomato operation, a citrus grove, an ornamental nursery, and—thanks to our south county emphasis this year—a local fishery.
The tour includes transportation to these various farms throughout the county aboard an air-conditioned bus, accompanied by knowledgeable local tour guides. A lunch of local fare will be served at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (sorry, the menu will be thoughtfully planned, but special diets cannot be accommodated).
Two departure times are available:
- Option 1: leave 8:00 am; return approx. 4:00 pm
- Option 2: leave 9:00 am; return approx. 5:00 pm
This year the buses depart from the Golden Gate Community Center.
