Sharing ideas and challenges is an integral part of improving volunteer programs. CAVA provides networking opportunities 30 minutes prior to every Skill Builder and Professional Development Workshop and hosts CAVA Java events and lunch discussions for our members. Employment and job training opportunities are shared with our membership through our FREE monthly newsletter and communication e-blasts.
Improve Your Skills
CAVA members are invited to attend Skill Builder workshops to boost their volunteer management skills. Volunteer administrators have an opportunity to attend a day-long class on Volunteer Management 101 or become certified as a Manager of Volunteer Programs, an adult education certificate series that trains participants how to effectively manage volunteers. CAVA members also receive discounted rates on quarterly Professional Development Workshops.
Be Recognized as a Leader
CAVA Members are invited to join the Executive Board, serve on a sub-committee, and/or share their expertise as a program presenter. CAVA also recognizes best practices in the profession of volunteer management through special leadership awards. CAVA honors individuals and organizations that help lead our city’s volunteers. Awards for Outstanding Volunteer and Outstanding Corporate Partner are also awarded annually.
