2017 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race
Join tens of thousands of participants and cycling fans in the spectacular Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast regions for Australia’s ultimate weekend of cycling and entertainment at the 2017 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race on 27 – 29 January.
In 2017, the 174km Elite Men’s Race on Sunday January 29 joins the coveted UCI WorldTour calendar, kicking off world cycling’s classics season for the year and attracting big name riders and top teams to go head to head in an intense battle for line honours.
Preluding the Elite Men’s Race will be the 113km Deakin University Elite Women’s Race on Saturday January 28, when more than 70 of the world’s best female riders are expected to compete.
After selling out in previous years, an entry in the People’s Ride on Saturday is again tipped to be highly sought after. Following the same route as the champions, thousands of participants in the 65km or 111km People’s Ride will ride alongside Australia’s only Tour de France winner, Cadel Evans on some of his favourite training roads in the world.
The weekend cycling extravaganza will commence on Friday January 27, with the GMHBA Family Ride followed by the Teams Presentations where fans have the opportunity to see the best in cycling up close.
Bring the whole family and watch the action from viewing points at Bells Beach, Chilambra climb and 13th Beach, Barwon Heads before heading to the finish line to catch the winner cross the line.
