This conference is designed for surgeons who specialize in breast surgery, medical oncologists, pathologists, genetic counselors, rehabilitation physicians, physical therapists, plastic/reconstructive surgeons, registered nurses, healing coaches, radiologists, radiology technologists and any other interested allied health care professional in the areas of primary care, internal medicine, family practice and OB/Gyn.


The Piper Breast Center in conjunction with Consulting Radiologists Ltd. plan each year this one-day conference with specialists from multiple fields who will present information about breast health and the care of patients: an area that is rapidly changing as a result of advances in prevention, screening, and detection. Other discussion topics will include Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy, Post Radiation Fibrosis, Radioactive Seed Location plus many more. Audience response system will be used to enhance participants’ knowledge during a question answer sessions throughout the day.


In an effort to Go Green, Allina Health will provide course materials in electronic format only. Registered attendees will be emailed handout link on Wednesday, January 25th. This will give you an opportunity to download/print the presentations prior to the event. You will be provided with a packet with note sheets at registration. Free Wi-Fi is available should you want to follow along on your phone or tablet during the day.


Upon completion of the conference, participants should be able to:

  • Describe breast lymphedema and post radiation fibrosis.
  • Explain what it means to have a balanced perspective.
  • Identify the benefits of radioactive seed localization.
  • List the strategies for building resiliency in healthcare.
  • Explain why neoadjuvant chemotherapy is used in some cases and not in others.





Physician - Allina Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Allina Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse - This activity has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements for 6.0 hours of credit. However, the nurse is responsible for determining whether this activity meets the requirements for acceptable continuing education.

Tech - Approved This activity has been reviewed by the American Society of Radiology Technologists (ASRT) for continuing education requirements and has been approved for 5.75 hours of Category A Credit.

Other - Individuals representing other professional disciplines may submit conference materials to their respective professional associations for 5.0 hours of continuing education credit.

The Radisson Blu has a parking ramp and a surface parking lot, if there are any special parking instructions due to multiple events at the hotel you will be notified via your email address 7 days prior to the start of the conference.


Registration Deadline: Friday, January 27, 2017. Any Registrations receive after this day will pay the "Late & Day of Registration" fee of $185.

Tuition fee includes conference educational credits, continental breakfast and lunch. To ensure a comfortable environment, attendance may be capped; early registration is recommended.

Substitutions are accepted at any time. For cancellations received by Friday, January 27th (6 business days prior to the start). Notices after this date will not receive a refund. To complete your cancellation or substitution contact Krista.lee@allina.com.
