Berkeley Unified School District Research Symposium, Equity in the Bay: Making Our Schools Work for All Students is open to families, educators and community members and will be held on January 21, 2017 from 8:30am to 12:30 pm at the Berkeley Adult School. This event will include presentations from educational researchers, student panelists and student musicians. Presentations will cover a wide range of public education issues from inequities in special education, to lack of access to quality instruction for low-income students, language minority students and students of color, to the impact of the Berkeley soda tax on students. Our final session will feature Berkeley High School students discussing Educational Equity in the Age of President Trump. Members of the public, BUSD parents, educators and educational researchers are welcome to attend this free event which is co-sponsored by BUSD and the Department of Educational Leadership at California State University East Bay.
