The 2017 Sixth Region Spring Meeting will be held on 20-22 April 2017, at the LaQuinta Inn in Tacoma, WA. This year’ theme: Soldier Readiness and Family Resilience.
Thursday evening is our traditional Hospitality Mixer at the LaQuinta Inn. Come and enjoy the heavy appetizers, no-host bar, and the camaraderie.
Friday starts with breakfast, on your own, followed by a special tour starting at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. We will depart the hotel at 0800 and arrive at JBLM around 0900. There will be a tour of a Stryker and an active training at a range. The tour will be from 0900-1030 with an opportunity for questions/answers from Brigade Commanders. We will then head to the Port of Tacoma to take a special afternoon boat tour beginning at 1300 on one of the many Victoria Clipper boats. The ride will include a tour of the Puget Sound along with some beautiful views of the great Pacific Northwest. A boxed lunch will be served on board the Clipper. Menu choices will be made available prior to the event. We will arrive back at the hotel at approximately 1600. Dinner for the evening will be on your own.
Saturday also starts with breakfast, on your own, followed by our business meeting at the LaQuinta Inn. The day will include a panel discussion of experts featuring MG Thomas James, 7ID commanding general from the Soldier Readiness arena and Family Resiliency. A buffet lunch will be provided that day. Menu choices will be made available prior to the event.
The meeting is followed by the Sixth Region Awards Banquet hosted at the LeMay Car Museum, Tacoma. The evening will start with a Cocktail Hour from 1700-1830 and the banquet starting promptly at 1900. Guest speaker is MG David Baldwin, Adjutant General for the State of California.
