Assistive Technology Toolkit: Including & Engaging Diverse Learners

DESCRIPTION: Assistive technology devices are a spectrum of tools from no/low tech to high tech that helps learners function more independently in the school environment.  Assistive technology devices and services can level the playing field for students with disabilities.  This session will discuss resources for AT consideration and provision of AT as required by IDEA. Free and low-cost AT solutions for communication and literacy, the two primary areas of AT referral in Arkansas for students with disabilities will be provided.  Tips for AT implementation will also be shared.

Presented by: Jeff Adams, EdD, CCC-SLP & Amy Goddard, OTR/L, CKTP

Seamless Transition for all Youth with Disabilities

DESCRIPTION: Wouldn’t it be ideal if students exit school with a job already in place? If the day after school exit looks the same as the day before: a job and supports to maintain employment? The good news is we know how to make this happen for all youth with disabilities. With stories and the latest professional consensus on what constitutes optimum transition service, Dr. Luecking will share and discuss why we should presume all youth can be employed, why we should expect that the culmination of special education services is the seamless transition to a job and a clear career path, and what it takes to make this happen.

Presented by: Dr. Richard Leucking, Ed.D.

Proceeds Benefit: DCDT & DADD

GROUP DISCOUNT 2 for $125: If you register 2 or more people for this pre-conference please use the promo code TAKE25 on both attendees registration.
