Event description

Description

The African Adventure is a unique, immersive hands-on experience designed to teach children and their families about what life is like in rural Uganda, without ever leaving New York City. Children are exposed to real-life issues that many face such as disease, malnutrition, and illiteracy – yet at the same time learn about the constructive and positive aspects and developments of present-day life in Uganda.

This year's activities will include:

* African Dancing

* Creating wildlife dioramas

* Popular sports and games in rural Uganda

* Discovering what it means to live below the poverty line

* Using recycled materials to grow plants native to Uganda

Please join us for these activities and many more.

Our goal is to provide children with an avenue to think creatively about current social problems, global connectedness, and to learn how they can actually be part of changing the future. Children will leave with a sense of empowerment – the understanding that they too have the ability to make a difference in their world.
