2017 Acoustic Music Week with Steve Gulley and Friends
Sun, Jul 16, 2017, 4:00 PM – Fri, Jul 21, 2017, 12:00 PM EDT
Acoustic Music Week is the vision of internationally-known musician, recording artist and producer Steve Gulley. “This is the fruition of a life-long dream,” says Gulley. “I’ve wanted to bring some of my award-winning musical friends to the beloved mountain home here in the tri-state area of Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia for a long time. It’s our chance to share the musical knowledge we’ve gained over our many ears of singing, playing, writing and performing all around the world.”
In this camp, world-class musicians work with participants in an intimate and friendly setting. We offer lessons in guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, dobro, bass, singing and songwriting. We welcome intermediate and advanced musicians as well as beginners. Our participants so far have been 8 years old to over 70 years old. Don’t worry. Once you hit 70, we stop asking how old you are.
Participants who reside on campus stay in LMU’s lovely residence halls. Whether you are in a suite or a single room, each room has a private bath. You have access to microwave, frig and stove. Continintal breakfast provided. If you prefer to stay off campus in an area hotel or B&B, or if you live close by and want to commute from home, we have a nonresidential rate.
Participants between the ages of 14-17 are supervised in the evening by Arts in the Gap college interns. Students younger than 14 who wish to stay on campus must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
