In honor of Black History Month, the African American Heritage House is hosting our 2nd Annual Spoken Word Festival. We're featuring poetry and spoken word by local artist. Many will be competing for prizes in three different categories; Top 3 female, top 3 male, and youth (ages 13 -18). Prizes up to $250 will be awarded.

In addition, there will be various special guest artist including Jaliya, "Guardian of the Word" performances throughout the afternoon.

Light refreshments will be available. This will be an "edutainment" family-friendly event.

Please RSVP, there is limited seating available! We look forward to hosting this event for our South bay community.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is an adjacent City of San Jose parking lot at the end of Phelan that only charges $6.00 for the day. Local municipal bus lines run by the park.
