2016 Yampa Valley Wellness Conference
Yampa Valley Wellness Conference - Partnering with the Yampa Valley Medical Center, Mind Springs Health, private mental health and wellness practitioners, REPS helps create an essential venue for discussing mental health awareness and resources on an annual basis. Drawing internationally and nationally acclaimed keynote speakers, and offering provocative breakout sessions, the conference attracts hundreds to Steamboat Springs.
This year's theme, Healing Through Compassion and Education, will highlight issues relevant across ages and topic areas. Three keynote presentations will feature childhood maltreatment and interventions, infant mental health in the first 1,000 days, and managing trauma symptoms in addiction recovery. Nine additional educational breakout sessions will cover the topics: pain and opiates, self care for the helper, understanding and managing sleep, performance and positive psychology, alternative perspectives on common medical conditions, self-compassion, the effects of addiction on the family, creating balance in our lives, and effective communication strategies with older adults.
