2016 WV Cyber Security Conference

West Virginia is participating in NCSAM (National Cyber Security Awareness Month), in an effort to do our part to make the Internet safer for everyone, by hosting a free cyber security event on October 25, 2016 @ the Charleston Civic Center from 9AM-1PM. (Doors open at 8:30AM) This event is open for all public sector officials and employees, as well as the general public. The agenda will focus on dynamic presentations, delivered by world-class experts in the areas of cyber threats, effective practices to safeguard computer information, with an emphasis on individual responsibility, accountability, risk management, and privacy issues. Our speakers include representatives from the following organizations (Speaker bios to be provided soon).
- NCC Group is a global expert in cyber security and risk mitigation, working with businesses to protect their brand, value and reputation against the ever-evolving threat landscape. They provide organizations with peace of mind that that their most important assets are protected, available and operating as they should be at all times. - Unit 42 is the Palo Alto Networks threat intelligence team. Made up of accomplished cybersecurity researchers and industry experts, Unit 42 gathers, researches, analyzes, and provides insights into the latest cyber threats, then shares it with Palo Alto Networks customers, partners and the broader community to better protect enterprise, service provider and government computing environments. Unit 42 also unearths adversary groups by analyzing data collected from the Palo Alto Networks security platform to provide context into an attacker’s motivations and methods.
- The MS-ISAC is the focal point for cyber threat prevention, protection, response and recovery for the nation's state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) governments. The MS-ISAC 24x7 cybersecurity operations center provides real-time network monitoring, early cyber threat warnings and advisories, vulnerability identification, and mitigation and incident response.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There is paid parking available at the Charleston Civic Center ($3.00), and across the street at the Charleston Town Center Mall ($1.75).

It makes check-in faster if you have the ticket in hand or on your phone, but it is not required.
