Spending on working adults accounts for two-thirds of healthcare costs. In a recent study, three-fourths of employees reported being in good or very good health. However, nearly half of those employees also reported being diagnosed with a chronic illness. People don't know how unhealthy they are. Thankfully, America's employers increasingly view health and well-being programs as a strategic imperative with numerous benefits. However, not all employee health programs have yielded these beneficial results. Less than seven percent of workplace wellness programs are comprehensive according to CDC guidelines. To yield positive results, a workplace health program needs to be comprehensive, fully implemented and rigorously evaluated.
