2016 US INSEAD Real Estate Connect

Many individuals and businesses build wealth or control business expense by becoming smart about real estate issues (selling/buying/lease/borrowing/lending). The US INSEAD Real Estate Investment Club, part of US INSEAD Alumni Association, was born to tackle this important topic. This year, we are holding our annual workshop in San Francisco.
Location: Kilroy Realty Corporation at 303 2nd St., San Francisco, CA 94107. Kilroy Realty Corporation, a reputed real estate firm, has been making headlines related to real estate transactions on the West Coast. We would like to thank Matt Holmes from KRC for the wonderful event space.
Date and Time: October 15, 2016 from 1 to 5pm. Registration begins at 12:30. No-host happy hour downstairs to follow after the event concludes at 5 pm.

Speakers (to be updated as the date approaches):
Carrie McAlister: Carrie has been helping East Bay families buy and sell properties for more than a decade. A graduate of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Carrie worked for years as a management consultant at Accenture in Los Angeles and Mitchell Madison Group in New York City. She also has international development experience in Latin America and the Middle East before becoming a top-producing Realtor®. She negotiated contracts for companies including American Express and News Corporation and worked for several years in new resort finance with Marriott Corporation. Carrie is also a founding member of Veros Partners, LLC, a real estate investment group placing investments in single-family and multi-family properties. A California native, she holds degrees from UC Santa Barbara and Harvard University and is currently a CCIM candidate.
Rob Edwards: Rob is a real estate economist, a member of the Harvard Real Estate Alumni Organization, and co-chair of the Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Network of San Francisco. He is a former city planner, CEO of several neighborhood revitalization public-private partnerships, and currently a Realtor. He earned a BA from Lehigh University and studied city planning at both UCLA and UPENN.
Matt Holmes: Matt is currently VP of Investments with Kilroy Realty Corporation, specializing in complex financial analysis and valuation of asset portfolios. Prior to joining Kilroy in 2015, Matt directed investment property transactions with Carmel Partners as well as with CB Richard Ellis. Matt has a great interest in social impact and serves as co-chair of San Francisco Programs for the Urban Land Institute. Matt earned his AB in Mathematics and Statistics from St. Olaf College, and an MBA from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.
Phil Li: Phil is a principal owner at Boomtown and a licensed real estate broker. Boomtown supports international companies and startups to Silicon Valley. He provides real estate services, including portfolio evaluation, property management, & brokerage. Boomtown also manages RAMP, an investment group that uses the real estate price prediction model that he has developed and LIR, a thriving 5-listing vacation rental business built from scratch. Prior to Boomtown, Phil worked at solar energy firms, Suntech and SunPower Corporation, as well as IT companies, Yahoo/Motorola/IBM. Phil is a Stanford graduate (B.S. in Human Biology) who also has an MS and an MBA from UCLA (Computer Science and International Management).
Solomon Gorlick: Mr. Gorlick is a Co-Founder and Principal of Red Tower Capital, Inc. Since 2003, he has been involved in the real estate industry, with a particular focus on private lending and residential property investment and rehabilitation. Previously, he spent several years in the technology industry serving in software development and management roles for various private technology companies based in the San Francisco Bay Area. During this time, he had the opportunity to lead technology teams in the US and India as well as manage product integration for Fortune 2000 clients in the United Kingdom. He is also an active member of the California Mortgage Association. Mr. Gorlick received a B.A. degree from the University of California, Berkeley and is a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Michelle Yeh: Michelle is an investor and a commercial real estate broker at Kidder Mathews. She has diverse experience in property management, international business, and civil engineering. Since returning to the Pacific Northwest after living in Asia & Europe, she has been managing multi-family rental properties across the Puget Sound region. Michelle obtained her MBA from INSEAD, and graduated from Stanford University with a B.S. and M.S. in Civil & Environmental Engineering.
Oscar Yang: Oscar is a principal attorney at Es Berry Law PC and an entrepreneur at Silicon Berry LLC. His primary areas of practice have been real estate and small business laws. He has been admitted to NY and WA bars. In particular, he has represented and advised clients on various dispute matters such as seller-buyer, creditor-debtor, landlord-tenant, employer-employee, and neighbors' conflicts. Prior to law practice, he was a management consultant, a strategic marketing manager, and a financial planner at three technology companies in CA and three strategy consulting firms in Seattle/Singapore/KL. Oscar has a B.A. from Dartmouth (Physical Chemistry with a minor in Studio Art), a J.D. from Cornell (Business Law), an MBA from INSEAD (Strategy and Marketing), and an MPP from Harvard (Finance).
