2016 South Dakota Gathering
The SD Gathering brings together direct support professionals, self-advocates, family members, friends, case managers and other professionals to share and grow in person centered practices.
LEARN! NETWORK! SHARE!
This year's keynote presenters are Beth Terrill and Cathy Ficker Terrill..
Beth is a self-advocate and speaks about the importance of friendships. She works hard to champion the rights of all people, especially her friends. Beth is also a huge wellness advocate. She works two jobs, volunteers, and lives in her own home with her service dog, Coco.
Cathy's career has included working in leadership positions in government, non-profit organizations, university teaching, advocacy and supporting and mentoring self-advocates. She has recently retired as CEO of CQL | The Council on Quality and Leadership, and currently serves as a Senior Advisor to CQL. Cathy believes that “each one of us can make a difference in the lives of others, one person at a time.”
In addition, there will be several break-out sessions through both days and a Gallery Walk/Social hour, with a cash bar, at the end of the first day.
