This course has been designed to teach an evidence-based approach to resuscitation of the newborn. The causes, prevention of, and management of mild to severe neonatal asphyxia are carefully explained so health professionals may develop optimal knowledge and skill in resuscitation. A comprehensive instructional textbook, which includes an interactive multi-media CD-ROM, forms the basic educational component of the program.
Prior to course attendance the student should:
- NRP is a self-instructional program. Participants will receive a textbook that they are responsible for reading. Participants will be required to purchase an online exam prior to the classroom session. (The exam fee is waived for Saint Francis employees.)
- Further details will be sent with registration confirmation.
- Complete all pre-tests prior to the course.

Continuing Nursing Education Continuing nursing education credit is awarded through the purchased online exam.
