RENEWABLE ENERGY POLICY IN RI
Aaron Regunberg will be sharing his legislative work in the realm of renewable energy policy. He will discuss what he sees as the challenges and opportunities for our state to increase our clean energy sector.
Aaron is State Representative of Rhode Island’s 4th District, including the Summit, Mount Hope and Blackstone neighborhoods in Providence, currently serving his first term in the Rhode Island General Assembly.
During his first term, he has worked to put the needs and values of his constituents first by fighting for legislation that will benefit our schools, working families, environment and economy. He is proud to have led successful efforts to win millions more dollars in school facilities funding, create new renewable energy programs, and more.
Aaron graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a B.A. in Political Science. While there, he founded the “Brown for Providence” student group that helped to successfully pressure Brown to make a larger payment in lieu of taxes to the City of Providence.
He fell in love with Providence the moment he moved here, and has lived on the East Side for nearly 8 years.
REI will also be welcoming Senator Sheldon Whitehouse who will be providing an update on green initiatives at the Federal level. We are humbled and gracious that the Senator has agreed to address our membership and guests.
