Friends of Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management, Inc. (FOE) is hosting the 2nd annual Race Against Invasives" 5K Fun Run/Walk. The purpose of this run is to spread awareness of invasive species in South Florida. Funds raised at this event will be used to support Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (ECISMA) education and outreach and early detection/rapid response efforts to new invasive species threats.
The race will take place at Everglades National Park at the Shark Valley Visitor Center. Runners are asked to park along the road outside of the Shark Valley Visitors Center (36000 Southwest 8th Street, Miami, FL 33194). Check-in will begin at 6:00 am and will close at 6:45 am. The race will begin promptly at 7:00 am in the visitor center parking lot. The course is along the beautiful Shark Valley trail. There will be a water station set up at the 2.5 km mark.
Entry fee includes a T-shirt and finisher medal.

Friends of Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management, Inc. (FOE) is a 501(c)(3) Non- Profit organization developed to be the fundraising arm of the Everglades Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (ECISMA) (See evergladescisma.org).
FOE purposes include:
1) Finnancia support for education and outreach to the public to further their knowledge regarding exotic invasive species threatening the Everglades Ecosystem.
2) Financial support for the management of invasive species including Early Detection and /Rapid Response to new invasive species.
