Women Helping Women and the YWCA, in collaboration with the Cincinnati Police Department, Zonta Club of Cincinnati, Women’s Crisis Center, and other community partners, is very excited to announce the FOURTH ANNUAL Purple Light Walk! The Purple Light Walk is a free annual event in the Greater Cincinnati area with the mission to raise awareness about domestic violence and to empower survivors with resources, advocacy, and community.
This year, the Purple Light Walk will be held at Fountain Square in the heart of the City of Cincinnati. The event will start with food, music and dancing, and a resource fair followed by a brief program and walk! Participants will walk approximately one mile walk through downtown Cincinnati while carrying purple glow sticks. As always, the event is FREE for all attendees!
Registration and a resource fair will begin at 5:30PM and the event program will kick off at 6:30PM. The start of the walk will begin at 7PM. Make sure you come early to pick up your FREE purple glow stick to carry during the walk! There will also be a limited supply of Purple Light Walk 2016 t-shirts for those who arrive early. Participants who arrive after the 2016 shirts are gone will receive a vintage 2014 Purple Light Walk t-shirt!
If you are interested in volunteering for the walk, please contact Kira Petrykowski at email@example.com. If you organization would like to take part in the resource fair please contact Verna Tuttle at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please join us for an evening filled with energy, support, resources, music, and of course purple glow sticks! We hope you will walk with us and "shine your light for the fight against domestic violence!"
