The North Pole Stroll is a display of live Christmas trees at the Duck Pond (Big Spring Memorial Park) in Downtown Athens. Lowe's donates live trees to be displayed in the park that can be sponsored and decorated by a local business, group, or organization. Those who wish to sponsor can click "TICKETS" on this page and choose Tree Sponsorship for $100 or Stroll Sponsorship for $50.
The event is FREE to the public. The "TICKETS" are to sell sponsorships.
Where is it located?
The North Pole Stroll is located in Big Spring Memorial Park, affectionately known as the "Duck Pond," in Downtown Athens.
Who organizes this event?
The North Pole Stroll is organized by City of Athens Mayor's Office, Athens-Limestone Tourism Association, City of Athens Parks and Recreation, Spirit of Athens, Keep Athens-Limestone Beautiful, and Limestone County Archives.
Who decorates the trees?
Each tree is sponsored by a local corporation, group or family, and decorated by its sponsor. Trees can have themes that match the company’s mission, or sometimes they’re just totally unique! Each tree has a sign with the sponsor's and/or organization's names.
How can I participate?
Sponsoring a tree is a great way to market your business, boost employee morale, and just be creative.
Tree sponsorships are available for the price of $100. Tree sponsors will receive signage at the stroll and logo on the website. Stroll sponsorships are available for $50. Stroll sponsors will be listed on event signage and website.
If you’d like to support our initiative, but don’t have time to decorate a tree just let us know and we’ll match your tree with a worthy nonprofit organization.
If your organization would like to be considered as a non-profit decorator please submit a nonprofit inquiry form to get on the waiting list for a sponsored tree. These trees are subject to availability, but we'll do our best to accommodate all requests.
What payment options do I have for sponsoring a tree?
We encourage sponsors to utilize our easy online Sponsor a Tree process, where you can place your order and securely pay with your credit card in just a few short steps. After receiving your payment, we'll reserve your tree and you will be good to go! Trees will not be reserved until payment is received.
How many years has the North Pole Stroll been presented at the Duck Pond?
This is the North Pole Stroll's second year.
When does the North Pole Stroll open & how long does it last?
This year it will open on Nov. 21, 2016. The official kickoff event will be Dec. 3, 2016.
Do I have to pay to enter the North Pole Stroll?
No. This is a FREE community event.
What are the hours of the North Pole Stroll?
The North Pole Stroll is open to the public daily until midnight.
