2017 Open NBMBAA Executive Board Positions

(Elections to be held at the November event)

All positions are a 10 hour per month commitment in addition to attendance at monthly Executive Board meetings (2hours) and membership meetings (2hours).


President

The President shall serve as the chief executive officer of the Cincinnati Chapter providing general leadership to the Cincinnati Chapter’s CEB and membership by developing the goals and objectives for the Cincinnati Chapter that is in line with the National Association mission statement. All elected officers and ad-hoc committee directors shall report directly to this office.

The scope of duties for this office includes:

  1. Acting as official spokesperson for the Cincinnati Chapter and is charged with the overall administration of the Chapter and charged with maintaining a positive image of the Chapter;
  2. Presiding at all General Membership meetings, CEB meetings, and Special Call meetings;
  3. Preparing and distributing agendas for all CEB meetings in advance and preparing general membership and special call meeting agendas upon request;
  4. Representing the Cincinnati Chapter before the National Association of this organization;
  5. Appointing, removing, or replacing officers or committee directors for those who are removed or resign from office with the concurrence of a simple majority vote of the CEB;
  6. Preparing for leadership succession;
  7. Leading the chapter toward business and service excellence for its membership and partners.
  8. Leading the chapter in the development, monitoring and maintenance of its strategic and operational plan.
  9. Acting in a timely, collaborative, and responsive manner to the membership, CEB officers, and partners.
  10. Ensuring that the CEB and membership are advised of initiatives, responsibilities, and/or deliverables as communicated from the National Association and ensuring delegation and execution of such, including the development of quarterly and annual status reports to outline the progress of the chapter, as necessary.
  11. Calling special meetings;
  12. Creating ad-hoc committees for specific goals or missions;
  13. Casting a deciding vote in the event of a tie at Executive, General, or Special Called meetings;
  14. Signing check authorization requests before Vice President of Finance releases funds;
  15. Ex-officio non-voting member of all committees with the exception of the Election Committee.


Vice President of Operations

The scope of duties for this office includes but is not limited to:

  1. Presiding at meetings in absence of the President and Vice-President of Administration.
  2. Provide a strategic plan for their office for the upcoming year, as well as a year-end report, recommendations and succession plan.
  3. Seeking opportunities where the Cincinnati Chapter and its members can benefit from or assist companies.
  4. Ensure that the plans and developments of special events, projects, programs, and meetings are successfully executed in a professional, timely and organized manner.
  5. Ensuring the effective operation of the Cincinnati Chapter’s committees.
  6. Completing special projects as delegated by the President or the CEB.
  7. Signing check authorization requests in the absence of the president or Vice President of Administration before Vice President of Finance releases funds.
  8. Administering scholarship programs provided by the Cincinnati chapter and to assist with those scholarship programs that are run by the national office
  9. Overseeing, managing and serving as ex-officio member of the Scholarship, Programs and Community Relations committees or assuming the responsibilities of said committees if the respective committee is inactive.

Vice President of Marketing & Communications

The scope of duties for this office includes but is not limited to:

  1. Develop marketing and public relation strategies to support and market our chapter events and initiatives.
  2. Seek opportunities to gain positive visibility for the Chapter.
  3. Establish relationships with key media personnel to obtain media coverage at selected Chapter events.
  4. Provide a strategic plan for their office for the upcoming year, as well as a year-end report, recommendations and succession plan.
  5. Coordinating the preparation and distribution of the Cincinnati Chapter newsletter & announcements.
  6. Updating the Cincinnati Chapter voicemail messages as necessary.
  7. Retrieval of messages and returning calls as needed and notifying appropriate person of requests.
  8. Checking the Cincinnati Chapter mailbox weekly and distributing mail in a timely manner
  9. Reading the CEB any correspondence received that requires CEB approval.
  10. Maintaining the Cincinnati Chapter website.
  11. Recording Cincinnati Chapter proceedings in absence of the Secretary.
  12. Writing or sending Cincinnati Chapter correspondence upon request.
  13. Recording and communicating, to all members and the National Board, annual Chapter plans and activities no less than once per quarter -including publishing the chapter program schedule
  14. Overseeing, managing and serving as ex-officio member of the Marketing, Communications and Public Relations committee or assuming the responsibilities of said committees if the respective committee is inactive.

Vice President/Director of Leaders of Tomorrow

Scope of duties for this office includes but is not limited to:

  1. Coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Cincinnati Chapter’s Leaders of Tomorrow Program.
  2. Provide a strategic plan for their office for the upcoming year, as well as a year-end report, recommendations and succession plan.
  3. Leading the recruitment efforts to bring in new student leaders and mentors.
  4. Administering the national scholarship program for the Leaders on a local level.
  5. Determining the process to select which leaders will represent the Cincinnati Chapter at national events and conferences.
  6. Ensuring student leaders have appropriate supervision for regional and national events and conferences.
  7. Participating in the process of raising funds to help cover the cost of the Leaders of Tomorrow program.

Serving as a liaison between the local and regional chapters and the national association, corporate sponsors and the local community concerning all Leaders of Tomorrow activities.


Secretary

Scope of duties for this office includes but is not limited to:

  1. Recording the proceedings of all General Membership (as applicable), CEB, and Special Call meetings.
  2. Distributing copies of the CEB meetings minutes to its members prior to the next CEB meeting for review.
  3. Maintaining an accurate record of all attendance at CEB meetings. Maintaining and preserving all pertinent chapter documents, correspondences, files and history as part of the chapter archives.
  4. Obtaining a list of current roster of members in Good Standing from Vice President of Administration each month.
  5. Safe guarding legal documents, reports, and minutes.
  6. Making minutes readily available for review by any member in Good Standing.
  7. Relinquishing records to successor or president when office ends.
  8. Serve as member of the Membership Committee.

Obtaining and maintaining an electronic storage/access vehicle for chapter documents and collateral.
