We’ll be right upstairs from the Maine Robotics STEM Expo where over 2,000 students, teachers, parents, and friends will be celebrating the world of robotics and digital technologies.

LearnToMod with Minecraft [10am-11:30am]
Make Your Own Computer Game with Scratch [10am-11:30am]
Use Scratch to make a computer game based on the classic game Pong. Once you know how to code with Scratch, the possibilities are endless! Scratch is designed by MIT especially for youth ages 8 to 16. Computers will be available for participants to use in this workshop.
Dragon Eggs with Dot and Dash [12pm-1:30pm]
Help Dash the Dragon navigate a maze of caves to find his egg Dot! In this workshop students will learn basic coding concepts, design theory, use critical thinking skills, problem solving, and collaboration in order to create a program to lead Dash the Dragon to Dot the egg.
Design Interactive Games and Animations with Code.org [12pm-1:30pm]
Come get creative and learn to program! Participants will get to work in Code.org's new programming environment, Game Lab, to design their own game or animation. No programming experience needed as the friendly environment supports new and experienced programmers alike! The workshop will begin with an overview of the basics needed to create games and animations in Game Lab. Participants will then have plenty of time to dive in and begin a creation of their own.
