This comprehensive class is taught by our RN Certified Childbirth Educators and covers everything new parents need to prepare for their upcoming labor and birth and equips them with the knowledge to feel confident to take their newborn home from the hospital. This class can be taken as an all day weekend day class or on a weekday split between 2 consecutive weeks. The first class or morning session will cover labor and birth and go over stages of labor, breathing, relaxation, epidurals, birth and postpartum. The second class or afternoon session starts with the hospital tour and then begins the newborn care and Infant CPR/safety portion. Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills on our infant sized dolls. Class will cover newborn appearance and behaviors, feeding, diapering, swaddling, SIDS prevention, safe sleeping, choosing a pediatrican and infant safety. For the CPR portion of the class, registrants can choose whether or not to receive a take home kit. Particpiants who choose to register for the kit will be able to have the kit to own at home to share this lifesaving information with all of their infant's caregivers. (This class does not provide certification for employers or daycare facilities). Room location will be emailed to all registrants 48 hours prior to the class.
*Please note that when signing up for the weekday class the second class will be the next week on the same weekday at the same time as the first class.
