You are warmly invited to the 24th Annual IDP Alumni Holiday Dinner! Come join your fellow alums & ID faculty for an evening of food, fun and networking.
Cocktails from 5:30 to 7pm
Dinner at 7pm with a Guest Speaker at around 8pm
Guest Speaker: To Be Announced Soon
The dinner will also feature a traditional Eritrean coffee ceremony!
What's on the menu and what does it cost?
Only $30 per person for a traditional Eritrean buffet with 3 meat dishes and 4 veggie dishes, plus homemade bread, injera (traditonal flatbread), coffee after dinner and gratuity included. Ice water and soda will be served with dinner. Beer, wine and mixed drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
What forms of payment will be accepted?
We can only accept cash or checks; cash is much preferred. No credit cards please. There are multiple ATMs near Dupont Circle, including Wells Fargo at 1350 Connecticut Avenue, and Bank of America at 3 Dupont Circle, NW. Checks should be made out to American University.
Suggested Donation: With such a good price for dinner in Washington, we encourage you to add $5 or $10 to your ticket price to make a donation to the David Hirschmann International Development Scholarship Fund. The Hirschmann Fund will benefit second-year ID students from developing countries. You can make a contribution at the door when you pay for your meal.
What are my transportation and parking options?
METRO (best option): the closest station is Dupont Circle on the Red Line. Use the South Exit and walk two blocks south along Connecticut Avenue. Turn right on to 18th Street for the ECCC at 1214 18th Street, NW. The ECCC entrance is between Shake Shack and Public Bar on 18th Street.
BUS: N6, G2 and Dupont Circle-Georgetown-Rosslyn Circulator all drop off nearby.
CAR: Street parking is available nearby on 19th Street, 20th Street and N Street.
Can I update my registration information?
If you need to update your registration, please visit the EventBrite page again or e-mail Kathy Sawyer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What can I do if my registration doesn't get into the EventBrite system?
If you have technical difficulties with EventBrite, please e-mail Kathy Sawyer at email@example.com and she will note your RSVP and respond to you in a timely fashion with a confirmation message.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Of course, just make the correction as you check in.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope. Simply mention your name to the folks at the check-in table. We will then collect your ticket payment, any donation to the Hirschmann Fund and give you a name tag.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on December 8th!
