The Harlem Fine Arts Show (HFAS) is the largest traveling African Diasporic art show in the United States. HFAS prides itself on its ability to bring people of all different backgrounds together to celebrate fine arts of the African Diaspora. The HFAS has also created economic empowerment, educational opportunities and professional recognition within the multicultural community.
Opening night proceeds will benefit the programs of the North Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The festivities will include artist encounters, live music, hors d'oeuvres and great conversation.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of nearly 14,000 professional women of color in 283 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
The North Shore (IL) chapter became a part of The Links, Incorporated and the Central Area of The Links, Incorporated on November 19, 1972.
