Event description

Description

As an art therapist, educator, artist, researcher, and cultural worker, Dr. Talwar is interested in drawing attention to the larger critical issues that impact the people art therapists serve. In this presentation Dr. Talwar explores the practice of art therapy beyond individualized medical models to open a conversation about the critical intersection of social change and social justice in private and public art therapy spaces. She explicates the role social practice, advocacy, and activism can play in creating a culturally responsive art therapy practice grounded in social justice.
