The Chip Shot Tournament is a memorial golf scramble in honor of Chip Parkhurst. Chip graduated from Houston High School in Germantown and The University of Memphis. He also worked at FedEx; he was a true Memphian to say the least. Chip was diagnosed with Lukemia at the much too young age of 24 and battled like a true hero for years. He eventually lost his battle in 2010 at 29 years of age. Throughout his battle with this dibilitating disease, Chip and his family were assisted by a wonderful non profit organization called Be The Match. For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Over the past 25 years Be The Match ® , operated by the National Marrow Donor Program ® (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. We work every day to save lives through transplant. So, we get together every October to see old friends, meet new ones, play golf, and raise money for an amazing organization. We also put on a drive at the tournament for the National Marrow Donor Program. We have personally had multiple people contacted by Be The Match and they have successfully donated and helped save a life. Please come out and enjoy a wonderful day of great people, great times, and a great cause! Help us take an afternoon off work, play golf, save lives, and have fun doing it!!!
