Description

The 13th Annual Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Conference will be held October 19–21 at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands. The conference will be presented in cooperation with the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies of Leiden University. Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto, President of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy (ILD), headquartered in Lima, Peru, will receive the 2016 Brigham-Kanner Property Rights Prize at this year's conference.

The conference is designed to bring together members of the bench, bar and academia to explore recent developments in the law that affect property rights. It is renowned for its outstanding panel discussions and for its encouragement of active participation from the audience through its question and answer segments with each of the panels.

Registration includes:

  • Admission to opening reception on 10/19
  • Admission to all panels at the Peace Palace on 10/20 and 10/21
  • Lunch at the Peace Palace on 10/20 and 10/21
  • Admission to annual banquet dinner on 10/21
  • All conference materials and readings

When should I plan to arrive?

We suggest planning to arrive in The Hague on October 18th. Rotterdam Airport is the closest airport, and is located approximately 25 minutes by car from the Peace Palace. Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam is a larger international airport and is located approximately one hour by train or by car from the Peace Palace.
