It is that time again!! Yes, the entire baseball world will once again come together for the Baseball Winter Meetings (Dec 4-8) and this year we are in a new location at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center just outside of Washington, DC. As per our normal tradition, we are having an event to bring together members of this vast and talented network. We will have a gathering on Tuesday, December 6th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am in the Gaylord Hotel (the exact room location will be emailed to all attendees).
Come on out and mingle with fellow members of the Baseball Industry Network. As in past years, representatives from various major league and minor league organizations will also be in attendance to network and screen potential candidates for various openings (full-time, internships, etc.). If you are someone looking for that big break, definitely be sure to stop through. I personally look forward to the time I have interacting with so many of our members and learning about your passions and what inspires you. There is no cost to attend. Please RSVP at by Sunday, December 4th (space is limited). If you are with an organization and looking to screen potential job candidates, please let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org. We are also looking for some volunteers who can assist during the event. If you are interested, please me at email@example.com. Be sure to keep up on Twitter at @tbrooksbin for more updates leading up to the event.
In the past for the Winter Meetings Meet-Up we have asked for donations to a charity. There will not be a charity that we are working with for the event but I do want to raise awareness about a charity that has affected my family. On November 19th I lost my mother at the age of 73 thanks to complications related to heart disease. In her honor, my family has created a memorial fund called the Gloria J. Brooks Memorial Fund with the American Heart/American Stroke Association. I am reaching out to all of our Baseball Industry Network members and attendees to potentially contribute to the Gloria J. Brooks Memorial Fund as we look to raise awareness and money in supporting efforts for the research, treatment and prevention of heart disease. Every dollar counts so I am asking for donations no matter how small (your donation is tax deductible too). There is strength in numbers and I am sincerely asking for your help as we try to reach our goal of raising $5,000. Thanks to the help of members of the baseball family we have raised over $1,100 thus far toward the cause. Any help toward this cause is greatly appreciated by me and my family. You can donate by going to http://honor.americanheart.org/site/TR/Events/General?pg=fund&fr_id=1030&pxfid=285288.
I’m looking forward to yet another great turnout and look forward to seeing many of you at the Gaylord Hotel. Stay tuned with updates by following the Baseball Industry Network on Twitter at @tbrooksBIN. As always, if you haven’t done so, please feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn. Thanks again for your continuous support of the Baseball Industry Network.

Baseball Industry Network
The Baseball Industry Network is a networking group open to individuals working in and/or connected to the baseball industry. The group covers the full gamut of people working throughout the game (executives and staff at the major league and minor league level, MLB employees, scouts, coaches, agents, baseball writers and bloggers, baseball related manufacturers and equipment companies, current and former professional players, etc.). Industry professionals are encouraged to network with fellow professionals and share their experiences working in the game of baseball with those trying to break into the industry. One of the goals of the network is to educate and potentially develop mentoring relationships between those currently in the industry with individuals attempting to either advance within or enter the industry. The Baseball Industry Network can be located at www.baseballindustrynetwork.com or on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com.
