About Monica Montgomery

Monica O. Montgomery is an international speaker, museum director and cultural entrepreneur, curating media and museums to be in service to society. She is the cofounder and Strategic Director of Museum Hue, a multicultural collective advancing professionals of color, in arts, culture, museums and creative economy. Through Museum Hue she mentors job seekers of color, students and career changers, training cultural leaders and partnering with institutions to facilitate diversity staffing, pipelines to leadership, equity & inclusion initiatives, job fairs, town halls, tours and talks.

She is a winner of the 2016 Arts Entrepreneurship Award from Fractured Atlas and the Founding Director of the Museum of Impact (MOI) the first mobile social justice museum, inspiring action at the intersection of self, society art and activism. MOI’s inaugural exhibit ‘Movement Is Rising: Journey of #BlackLivesMatter’ curates current events around human rights abuses against people of color, and is traveling the country as a pop up exhibit.

Her expertise converges at the intersection of community engagement, cultural production, education, and social justice. She was a 2014 Creative Community Fellow with National Arts Strategies, a 2015 Cultural Advocacy and Equity Program Fellow with NYC Cultural Equity Fund. Monica is an adjunct professor with Harvard University teaching Museums, Public Programs & Social Change. She holds leadership positions in MASS Action - Museums as Sites of Social Action project through the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Audience Diversity Academy of AMA UK, the New York City Museum Educators Roundtable and American Alliance of Museums through the National Program Committee. Monica is a proud of member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, an alumna of Temple University with a Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Communication and La Salle University, with a Masters of Arts in Corporate Communication.

Directions to Union Transfer

By SEPTA
Regional Rail:
Take any regional rail train to the JEFFERSON STATION. Head towards the 11th Street exit. Proceed NORTH for 7 blocks on 11th Street to Spring Garden Street. Make a RIGHT onto Spring Garden Street, Union Transfer will be on your RIGHT.

 

Market Frankford Line:
Take the Market/Frankford (Blue Line) to the11th Street station. Head towards the 11th street exit. Proceed NORTH on 11th Street for 7 blocks to Spring Garden Street. Make a RIGHT onto Spring Garden Street, Union Transfer will be on the RIGHT.

 

Broad Street Line:
Take the Broad Street (Orange Line) to the Spring Garden station. Make a RIGHT onto Spring Garden Street heading EAST. Union Transfer will be just after 11th Street on the RIGHT.

 

By Car
From Downtown Philadelphia:
If you are West of Broad St, drive to Broad & travel North. Make a right on Spring Garden and drive 3 blocks. Union Transfer is on the right hand side of the block. If you are East of Broad St, drive North to Spring Garden St. Union Transfer is between 10th and 11th Streets and Spring Garden Street.

 

From Philadelphia suburbs
From I-95, follow signs for I-676 E/US-30 E/Independence Hall and merge onto Callowhill St. Take Callowhill to 11th St and make a right. Drive to Spring Garden and Union Transfer is on your right. From I-76, merge onto I-676. Get off at Broad St and make a right onto 15th St. make the 1st left at Race and then another left at Broad. Travel North on Broad St and make a right onto Spring Garden. Union Transfer is at 11th & Spring Garden St.

 

From New Jersey
From the Ben Franklin Bridge, follow Vine St West until 11th St. Travel North on 11st until Spring Garden. Union Transfer is on your right. From the Walt Whitman Bridge, travel North on I-95. Follow signs for I-676 E/US-30 E/Independence Hall and merge onto Callowhill St. Take Callowhill  to 11th St & make a right. Drive to Spring Garden & Union Transfer is on your right.

 

Parking
There are 2 parking options that are close to Union Transfer.  Park America is located on 1400 Spring Garden Street on the East Side of Broad Street at Spring Garden.   Patriot Parking Inc. is located at 1201 Callowhill Street.
