Please register for the 3rd Annual American Indian Domestic Violence Awareness Day of Unity
In this field of work we realize that domestic and sexual violence occurs year round but during the month of October we highlight the ongoing efforts of our domestic violence/sexual assault tribal programs to strengthen tribal communities by providing resources and help to their community members who have been affected by violence.
Help show your support for domestic violence victims, survivors and advocates by joining us at the Oklahoma State Capitol on October 4th, 2016 for the 3rd Annual Domestic Violence Day of Unity.
Following last year's agenda we plan to include tribal leaders, members of the Native American Caucus, tribal survivors and advocates as speakers.
A letter of invitation from NAAV has been sent to all of your tribal leaders. If your tribal leader or a survivor would like to speak out against or share how domestic violence has affected their lives to empower others please let us know.
Please let us know if you have a tribal elder who would be willing to say the opening and closing prayer.
T-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
Refreshments will be served after the closing prayer.
