Thank you for signing up to volunteer for our 2016 Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure. We appreciate your willingness to sacrifice your time and service to the many women and men in our Central Florida area.
After serious deliberation and extensive discussion, Komen Central Florida’s Board of Directors made the decision to cancel the October 23rd Race, due to the significant rebuilding and recovery necessitated by Hurricane Matthew.
This was not a decision that was made lightly; however, at this point it would be inconsiderate to our community to continue with our event.
We hope that you will see our decision positively and support it as we support our community in this time of rebuilding and recovery.
Volunteers play a vital role in the Susan G. Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure®. Their passion and commitment is what makes our Race successful. Today, thanks to more than 100,000 survivors and volunteers/activists, Susan G. Komen® is the world’s largest, most progressive grassroots organization fighting breast cancer.
It’s fun. It’s rewarding. And you’ll meet some truly incredible people when you volunteer for the Komen Central Florida Race for the Cure. The success of the Race depends heavily on the support we receive from more than a hundred volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day.
Who can volunteer?
Fun-loving, enthusiastic, hard-working and reliable individuals and groups who are willing to contribute to the success of the Komen Central Florida Race.
