In order to create your personal NPW5K donation page and raise funds to support these important efforts, please go HERE and select "Fundraise for this Campaign", then follow the prompts. Your generous support is greatly appreciated.
This event raises money to support important ODMP programs, including Line of Duty Death Notifications, the No Parole program to keep cop killers behind bars, and the ODMP K9 program honoring fallen K9 heroes, as well as ongoing efforts to uncover the stories of forgotten heroes and pay them the tribute they deserve.
Additionally, a portion of the funds raised by the NPW5K will be donated to Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) to support vital programs that assist survivors after the loss of a loved one.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You MUST present a photo ID to pickup your bib and race packet. If you are picking up bibs and race packets for others, you MUST have a copy of their photo ID as well. No bibs or race packets will be given out without presenting photo ID. No exceptions will be made.
On the day of the race, children are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate. Children who can complete the course on their own must be registered. For younger children, strollers are welcome (you do not need to register children in strollers). We do ask that if you plan on pushing a stroller you start towards the rear of the crowd at the starting line to avoid being in the way of faster runners. There will be special medals for all children who participate.
Dogs are also welcome and many people run with their dogs to honor fallen K9 heroes. If you do plan to bring your dog, you must follow all District of Columbia laws pertaining to animals (ie, leash laws and waste disposal). If you would like your dog to have a memorial bib, you must pay the regular registration fee.
