2015 Sheridan Shore Sailing School Alumni Regatta

Class: 420 (SSSS has limited boats for use, please register ASAP)
Rules: The regatta will be governed by the 2013-2016 ISAF RRS, the prescriptions of the US Sailing Association, the ISSA PR’s, this NOR, and the SI’s.
Registration and Entry: Competing sailors must be current Alumni of either: Sheridan Shore Sailing School Summer Race Team, Loyola Academy Sailing Team, Evanston Township High School Sailing Team or North Shore Country Day School Sailing Team. Contact Tommy Holmberg at (847) 271.6335 or email at Zac at email@example.com on your intention of this regatta. Email should include school, name of sailor, skipper or crew. All Sailors must pay online. We will pair all sailors up at registration based on skill level and fun level.
If you can or cannot attend please consider giving an additional donation!!

Entry fee is $50 per competitor; Burgers/Dogs and Beer on YC Rail Deck after racing. BYOB lunch/snacks and refillable water bottles.

Waiver of Liability
For and in consideration of Participant’s registration with the Sheridan Shore Sailing School and High School Sailing Program’s (the “Program”), and being allowed to participate in the Program, the undersigned Parent/Guardian gives permission for the above named student to participate in the Program and hereby waives, releases, and relinquishes any and all liability for and cause of action for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death occurring to Participant arising out of, on account of, or in relation to, directly or indirectly, participation in Program events or the sport of sailing, and activities incidental thereto, wherever and however they occur, and by this Agreement any such claims, rights and causes of action that Participant may have against the Sheridan Shore Sailing School, Sheridan Shore Yacht Club, Wilmette Harbor Association, National Spiritual Assembly, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, parent committee members, and their representatives, employees, members, volunteers and helpers for any claims of damages or injury sustained by the participant while participating in any activity related to the Program or use of the Wilmette Harbor Association or Sheridan Shore Yacht Club boats or facilities arising out of or in connection with the operation of the Program
Participant and his/her parents or guardians acknowledge, understand and assume all risks inherent in sailing and water sports activities whether on land or on water and understand that said sport and related activities involve risks to Participant’s person including bodily injury and death, and damages which may arise therefrom and that they have full knowledge of said risks. It is further acknowledged that there may be risks and dangers not known or reasonably foreseeable at this time. Participant and his/her parents or guardians agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Sheridan Shore Sailing School, Sheridan Shore Yacht Club, Wilmette Harbor Association, National Spiritual Assembly, Midwest Interscholastic Sailing Association, Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, parent committee members, and their representatives, employees, members, volunteers, and helpers for any claims of damages or injury sustained by the Participant while participating in any activity related to the Program or in use of the Wilmette Harbor Association or Sheridan Shore Yacht Club boats or facilities in connection with the operation of the Program.
Parent/Guardian acknowledge and agree that Coast Guard approved life jackets and shoes will be required to be worn on the docks and in the boats at all times and that the ability to swim 50 yards is a prerequisite for participation in the classes. Parent/Guardian further agrees to see to it that his or her child adheres to the Program rules and Code of Conduct. Parent/guardian further agrees to assume the obligation for the expenses of repair and/or replacement of Program equipment that is attributable to his/her child’s reckless or irresponsible behavior.
Participant and his/her parents or guardians assume full responsibility for any loss or damage, that may come to any person, boat, equipment, pier, float or other property used in conjunction with the program which loss or damage is the result of improper use, negligence, violation of the rules of any sponsoring organization, or other acts of participants, or other representatives of the sponsoring organizations, instructional program or host location in connection therewith.
IT IS THE INTENTION OF THIS AGREEMENT TO EXEMPT, WAIVE AND RELEASE THE SHERIDAN SHORE SAILING SCHOOL, SHERIDAN SHORE YACHT CLUB, WILMETTE HARBOR ASSOCIATION, NATIONAL SPIRITUAL ASSEMBLY, METROPOLITAN WATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT OF GREATER CHICAGO, PARENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS, AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, EMPLOYEES, MEMBERS VOLUNTEERS, AND HELPERS FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND WRONGFUL DEATH CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE, INCLUDING THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE FOREGOING ORGANIZATIONS AND PERSONS.
THE UNDERSIGNED ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HE/SHE HAS READ THIS AGREEMENT, UNDERSTANDS THE CONTENTS OF THIS AGREEMENT AND HAS NOT RELIED UPON ORAL OR WRITTEN REPRESENTATIONS OF THE SHERIDAN SHORE SAILING SCHOOL WHICH ARE INCONSISTENT WITH THAT CONTAINED IN THIS AGREEMENT.

Sheridan Shore Sailing School
For more than 70 years, Sheridan Shore Sailing School has been proud to offer students of all ages the opportunity to experiences the thrill, challenge, and exhilaration of sailing. All SSSS coaches are U.S. Sailing Level 1 Small Boat and 1st AID/ CPR Certified. Our classes feature a low student- instructor ratio to teach the skills of sailing and seamanship to juniors, high school students and adults of all ability levels. In addition to summer sailing lessons, we also coach high school teams in the spring and fall as well as partner with the North Suburban Recreation Association to offer sailing to children and adults with disabilities.
In 2014, Sheridan Shore Sailing School became accredited as one of twenty six US Sailing Community Sailing Centers. This honor recognizes that SSSS exceeds all the required standards set forth by US Sailing and maintains an impressive commitment to high quality public access sailing through our educational resources and outstanding staff.
The Sailing School, a 501c (3) not-for-profit organization, operates in partnership with the Wilmette Harbor Association and is located at Sheridan Shore Yacht Club in Wilmette, IL.
