When & Where
The Tyler Foundation
The Tyler Foundation focuses on improving the quality of the family’s lives while caring for their child with epilepsy at Boston Children’s Hospital and UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.
At the drop of a moment, a child with epilepsy could be rushed to the hospital for tests and procedures that could keep them and their parents there for extended periods of time. The goal of the Home Away Fund is to provide these family’s with items to make their stay better and easier. We supply both hospital wings with “sign-out” items for the kids and parents to bring back to their rooms. These items include, but are not limited to: a large selection of current movies for both kids and the parents, technology devices such as iPads, LeapPads, nooks, kindles, and hand held games. We continually provide personal care items to the families, such as: soap, dental products, hair detangler for after EEGs, laundry detergent, and other necessary items that are often forgotten when packing in an emergency.
