Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association is excited to announce the 2015 Buddy Walk In The Park!
We’re asking the community to join us! If you have Down Syndrome, know someone that has Down syndrome or just want to show support come join us! The Buddy Walk is a one-mile pledge walk designed to help increase public awareness and the acceptance of individuals with Down Syndrome as well as raise funds to support initiatives and services for them in our own communities.
The 2015 JSDSA Buddy Walk is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 9:30am est (rain or shine). The walk will be held in the Picnic #2 Area of Winding River Park, Toms River, NJ. This event is more than an awareness walk. The event will include refreshments, activities and entertainment in a place where the community can relax, have fun and enjoy each others company.
Registration is necessary! You can register as an individual, family or as part of a team that you can start yourself or join another. If you are preregistered, go directly to registration to check-in and pick up your t-shirt. The deadline to preregister and receive a tshirt is Friday, September 11, 2015. Tshirts ARE NOT GUARANTEED to those who register after this date. Registration will also be available onsite on the day of the walk but tshirts are not guaranteed if you register after the deadline or on the day of the walk.
Donations are not required to participate in the walk. If you would like to collect donations, please feel free to share this event’s page with friends and they may make a donation there if they wish.
The Buddy Walk will take place rain or shine! Sorry, no refunds will be given.

The Jersey Shore Down Syndrome Association covers Ocean and Monmouth Counties. It is the only non-profit organization in the Ocean County area dedicated solely to the Down syndrome community. Our mission is to empower and support individuals with Down syndrome and their families through increased awareness, advocacy, education and inclusion. Your support and sponsorship of our organization will allow us to provide services to new and expectant parents, to reach out to the medical community, provide resource referrals, enrichment programs, activities, parent support groups and more, all with the goal of enhancing and enriching lives. The best way to increase awareness is through community events and media participation.
