Florida’s first ever Bee Research Symposium is being held 15 – 16 July. The meeting will bring together bee researchers from across the state and region to discuss topics related to the study of bees.
There are two ways to attend the meeting, first as a presenter and second as an observer. Presenters must register online, submit an abstract, and indicate whether they want the presentation to be delivered orally or via poster. All information about submitting abstracts can be found on the abstract submission form, which you will receive in your confirmation email after ordering your ticket. Any questions about abstract submission should be directed to Brandi Simmons at firstname.lastname@example.org. Note: All abstract submissions are due on 3 July 2015.
Individual submitting abstracts must represent a governmental (such as USDA, EPA, FDACS, etc.), academic (University of Florida, Florida State University, etc.), industry (Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, etc.), formal association (Florida State Beekeepers Association, Florida Blueberry Growers Association, etc.) or other similar organization. All abstracts will be reviewed for scientific merit and abstract acceptance into the program is not guaranteed. The contact authors for all abstracts will be notified of abstract acceptance and the type of presentation invited to deliver (i.e. poster or lecture)
Alternatively, attendees may choose to attend the meeting as an observer. Individuals choosing to attend the meeting this way will be privy to all meeting activities (meals, lectures, poster session, etc.) but will not be a part of the oral/poster presentation program (i.e. not allowed to present orally or via poster).
The two day event will be split between Apis (honey bee) and non-Apis bees. The topic of the abstract will dictate which day the oral/poster presentation is made.
