2015 Honorary Host- Karen MacNeil
Wine Country Network is proud to announce this year’s honorary host as Karen MacNeil, author of The Wine Bible. Karen is also a preeminent wine educator, wine consultant and President of Karen MacNeil and Company. She has won every top wine award in the English language, and will be debuting her newly revised Wine Bible at the DIWF.
The Festival will kick off with the Grand Vintner’s Dinner, a multi-course winemaker’s dinner, on Wednesday, October 28. The location and featured winery will be announced at a later date. Past Vintner’s Dinners have featured the prestigious wineries Silver Oak and Banfi Vintners.
On Thursday, October 29, the Festival continues with the Pairsine Chefs Fine Food and Wine Pairing Competition. In competition for the coveted People’s Choice Award, ten celebrated chefs have each been assigned two of the gold-medal-winning wines from the 2015 Denver International Wine Competition, and must create a gourmet food pairing for each wine. The Pairsine Competition will take place from 5:30-9:00 p.m VIP Tickets or from 6:30-9:00pm General Admission Tickets.

The Grand Tasting of International Wines and Food will be held on Friday, October 30, from
4:00–9:00 p.m. (VIP), or 6:00–9:00 p.m. (general admission). This is the region’s largest wine tasting event for consumers, media and trade, with more than sixty wineries, breweries and distilleries pouring, including premium spirits, sake, and craft beer. Attendees enjoy delectable
food and wine tastings, food products, wine accessories, an auction and fine art.

Pairsine (pronounced pair-zeen) is Denver’s premier culinary competition for wine-savvy chefs, and will feature ten master chefs creating twenty culinary pairings with the twenty gold-medal-winning wines from the 2015 Denver International Wine Competition. There’s no secret ingredient to cook. The chefs’ challenge is to create two spectacular dishes to pair with each of their assigned, gold-medal-winning wines, with just one week’s notice. Hosea Rosenberg, Bravo TV’s Top Chef Season Five winner, was a three-time champion of the contest before achieving TV fame. Pairsine tickets are $100/person general admission or $175 VIP. VIP tickets include a VIP logo festival wine glass, one hour early access, meet and greet with chefs and hosts, a raw bar with sparkling wine, and a VIP Gift Bag upon exit.
The Grand Tasting will include a Colorado Beer Garden with craft beer and gourmet food samplings. VIP ticket holders will also receive exclusive entrance to the VIP lounge with
chef stations and rare beverages, and complimentary admission to educational seminars and guided tastings.
Festival tickets range in price from $75 – $175 per person, depending on the event. New this year, the Festival is also offering a Connoisseur 2-Day VIP Pass ($340), valid for the Pairsine VIP Experience on October 29 and Grand Tasting VIP ticket on October 30.
