Winter Film Awards challenges you to create a short film from start to finish in just a single weekend!
Over $7k in prizes, including a Filmmakers Prize Package from B&H Photo. Other great prizes provided by Ride of Fame, Indoor Extreme Sports, The Paint Place, Chelsea Piers, Sleep No More / The McKittrick Hotel, Pole Position Raceway, NY SKYRIDE and City Wine Tours ! What is the 48-Hour Film Challenge?
We challenge filmmakers, talent and crew to create a short film in two days in an exciting and fast-paced environment with limited rules for an awesome experience!
It is FREE to take part in the Challenge, but you must register in order to take part!
The Challenge gets underway on Friday, November 7 at 8pm. A representative of each team must come to our offices to get your GENRE, TAGLINE and PROP. You then have two days to write, produce and edit a 4-7minute film in time to bring it to us at our offices on Sunday, November 9 by 8pm. On Friday November 21 at 7pm, the best entries as judged by the WFA Jury will be screened at BLONDIES in NYC, followed by an Award Ceremony, prizes and networking party. Prizes will be awarded for BEST PICTURE and FAN FAVORITE
Ready to accept the challenge? First, please read the OFFICIAL RULES of the Challenge and review the "How It Works" to make sure you understand and agree to everything. When you’re done, register your team via Eventbrite. Lastly, print and sign the official rules and bring it with you when you come to our offices to receive your genre, prop and tagline.

Winter Film Awards (WFA) mission is to recognize excellence and diversity in cinema by nurturing emerging filmmakers from all genres from around the world. WFA celebrates the crazy cultural mixture that is New York City, showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective, allowing the audience a chance to enjoy films they normally wouldn't think to seek out.
