Today’s economic environment is both challenging and puzzling. Economies and markets do not always synchronize in terms of recovery and that has never been more evident than it is now. For this reason, understanding economic issues is critical in formulating the correct investment strategy for changing global conditions. This presentation by Michael Yoshikami seeks to provide insight into the current state of economic recovery on a global basis and presents a few thoughts regarding possible investment strategies in response to these conditions. Michael Yoshikami, Ph.D., is CEO, founder and chairman of Destination Wealth Management. Founded in 1986, Destination is a San Francisco Bay Area-based independent wealth management firm. He leads the research initiatives at DWM. Yoshikami was named by Barron’s as one of the “Top 100 Independent Financial Advisors” for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. The prestigious rankings are based on assets under management, the quality of practices and advisors’ revenues. Yoshikami holds a B.S. in business administration, an MBA and Ph.D. in education, and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. Yoshikami is a finance professor at National University of Singapore and authors finance white papers for NUS. He frequently appears on CNBC as a CNBC contributor and is quoted widely in the financial press. He also writes extensively on investment issues and global trends that have been published in the financial press.
