This year marks Accion's 20th Anniversary of being at the forefront of creating economic opportunities for low-income, minority, and female entrepreneurs in Illinois and Northwest Indiana. We invite you to support small business and economic development by attending our annual fundraiser event, the Taste of Accion.
Stephanie Izard, Keynote Speaker
We are honored to host Stephanie Izard as our keynote speaker. Stephanie is a chef, business owner, author, James Beard "Best Chef" award winner and winner of Bravo’s competitive cooking show, “Top Chef.” She is the owner and Executive Chef at two popular Chicago restaurants, Girl & The Goat and Little Goat.
This event brings together clients, community supporters, members of the financial industry, and political leaders to learn about the work we are doing. The evening begins with a silent auction and an arrangement of food provided by Accion clients, providing you with a "taste" of their businesses. Afterwards there will be a brief program that outlines the last 20 years of small business lending in Illinois and Northwest Indiana and our vision for another 20 years in the region.
Parking will be offered at a discounted price of $18 for our guests. Tickets for the Wabash and Randolph Self-Park will be available at registration when you check in. Entrances to the garage are at 20 E. Randolph and on Wabash just South of Lake Street.
When & Where
Accion Chicago is a nonprofit alternative lending organization dedicated to providing credit and other business services to small business owners who do not have access to traditional sources of financing. By encouraging the economic self-reliance of microentrepreneurs throughout Illinois and Northwest Indiana, Accion Chicago strives to help businesses and communities grow.
Many of our clients do not have access to traditional bank loans. The small size of their loan request and limited credit history regularly make them ineligible for conventional financing and unable to obtain the credit they need to grow their businesses. Accion Chicago provides the credit and training necessary to help small business owners increase their incomes, create new jobs and strengthen their communities.
