About Project Understanding
Project Understanding had its beginnings more than a quarter of a century ago when the people of the faith community stepped forward to make a difference in the lives of those around them. Leadership and members of half a dozen congregations collaborated in their efforts to work towards helping the underserved in this community.
Project Understanding has initiated a number of programs that have since incorporated as separate agencies. Among these are FOOD Share (the county food bank) and the Ventura County affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
Project Understanding currently operates 7 programs. As the needs of our community members shift, we strive to evolve and adapt our services and programs with the dynamic nature of those we serve and their needs.
When & Where
Project Understanding is a faith based non-profit organization serving those in need through nine different programs ranging from tutoring, transitional living facilities, and accompanying programs. Our services support and encourage independence and are geared towards keeping families housed. For more information please visit www.projectunderstanding.org
