4. Rack up continuing professional education credits.
All event attendees are eligible for CPE (continuing professional education) credits. For more information on the learning objectives, prerequisites, and other policies for receiving CPE credits, read this. A certificate of completion is issued to those who applied for CPE credits following attendance of the event and completion of the post-event survey.

Kent Politsch
Chief of Public Affairs | USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA)
Kent supervises public affairs and FOIA staffs for FSA, an agency that serves farmers and ranchers with 12,000 employees in more than 2,000 offices covering Guam to Maine; Puerto Rico to Alaska. The public affairs branch writes and distributes news releases, fact sheets, blog posts, web content, and monthly state and county newsletters and bulletins mostly by connecting with 600,000 unique subscribers via GovDelivery. Kent is preparing for a retirement career as an author, recently completing his second thriller novel "Blood Anger." His first, "Global Anger," was published in 2012. He and his wife live in Hanover, MD.
Alan Levy
Chief Web Officer | Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)
Alan is responsible for the strategic vision, development, and day-to-day operations of the FDIC’s Web and Social Media presence. He also advises senior executives on the use of technology for stakeholder outreach, public service campaigns, and internal communications. Alan has been with the FDIC for 28 years in various capacities including the past 19 in Web site development. In his spare time, Alan volunteers for several sport-based youth organizations and High School teams. He also blogs about New York sports teams. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two daughters.
Cameron Brenchley
Director of Digital Strategy | U.S. Department of Education
Cameron is Director of Digital Strategy at the U.S. Department of Education, overseeing digital development and strategic planning. He advises Department staff and the Secretary on digital strategies, campaigns, and on innovative ways to enhance user experience and engage the public.
Before working at the Department of Education, Cameron worked as a Press Secretary for Congressman Jim McDermott in the House of Representatives and as a new media specialist at the House Committee on Ways and Means. Cameron is an Air Force veteran and served four of his six-year enlistment in Japan.
Steve Ressler
Founder and President | GovLoop
Steve Ressler is the Founder and President of GovLoop.com, the “Knowledge Network for Government” which connects and fosters collaboration among over 100,000+ members of the government community. On GovLoop, members use social media such as blogs, videos, and forums to discuss best practices and share ideas on improving government.
Steve is a 3rd generation public sector leader and spent 6 years in roles at Social Security Administration, Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security Inspector General, and DHS Immigrations and Customs Enforcement. He has won the 2010 GovTech Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and Drivers Award, the 2007 and 2009 Federal 100 Award, and the 2009 AFCEA Bethesda Social Media Award. Additionally, he has been featured in many publications and conferences including the Washington Post, Harvard Kennedy School, World Economic Forum, Wall Street Journal, Fox News, Huffington Post, among others.
Steve is also the co-founder of Young Government Leaders (YGL), a professional organization of over 2,000 government employees across the U.S. He is a Master's graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where he received the Department of Homeland Security Fellowship. When not in D.C., he spends his time with his wife, his son, and two cats in Tampa, Florida.
Scott Burns
CEO & co-Founder | GovDelivery
Scott co-founded GovDelivery in 2000 and has spent the past decade supporting his passion of encouraging open government, civic engagement, and technology innovation in the public sector. Scott believes that effective use of technology provides the best opportunity to make both citizens and government better. In 2008, Scott was one of 25 people in the private sector to be named to Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100.
