The mission of the PCOS Foundation is to spread knowledge and understanding of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is difficult for most doctors to recognize and diagnose because it can cause a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms. For this reason, less than half of PCOS sufferers have been diagnosed. Many of the women and girls who are diagnosed do not receive enough medical education about treatment and maintenance for their PCOS. When PCOS is not treated and maintained, symptoms worsen and the risk of developing life -threatening diseases increases dramatically.
PCOS sufferers must be aware of the symptoms, health precautions, and risks for diseases associated with PCOS to help prevent future health complications. The PCOS Symposium provides this vital information with a free day of learning that alerts girls and women to the dangers of ignoring signs of PCOS and helps them realize that they must prepare for life-long care.
Various health and fitness professionals give presentations about PCOS to women and their supporters during a day-long educational class. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions, interact with other attendees, and are given informational handouts. A lunch break is taken for attendees. The event takes place at the Hilton Hotel on Sunday, September 29th from 8:30-3:30. Registration will begin at 8:00am.
We have keynote speakers such as Dr. Hotze, Dr. Allon, PCOS Diva and MORE!
