Event Details

What is the Patch Sprint?:
The Patch Sprint is an annual event in which participants climb all four Pok-O-Patch mountains (Bare, Rattlesnake, Sugarloaf, and Pok-O-Moonshine) in one day. The length of the course is approximately 12 miles.

Race fees for the event are kept to a minimum so that supplemental donations will go directly to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation and Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center, both of which to help children attend Pok-O-MacCready. To learn more about this great event, read about its HISTORY.

Eligibility:  To be eligible, participants must be either:

A) A member of the Pok-O-MacCready "Family" (camper, staff, alumni)
B) A camp friend or guest making a donation to our beneficiaries.

Divisions:  There are several divisions in the Patch Sprint 2013. Please be sure to specify your division when you fill out the registration form.

  • Open Male - Overall Champion and decade-age categories
  • Open Female - Overall Champion and decade-age categories
  • Clydesdale - Over 200 Lbs (90.9 kg, or 14.31496 Stone)
  • Trekker - For anyone who would like to hike cover the course in a noncompetitive manner.
  • Kinder Sprint - A race up the trail of Mt. Pok-O-Moonshine (1.2 mile well-marked course). Must be aged 10 or under to participate.

Awards:  Medallions go to all course finishers... Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each division and age group... The fastest man, and fastest woman receive perpetual trophies... The overall fastest time (from the 10:00am start), irrespective of gender and division, receives the coveted "Janny".  Special recognition awards are also presented.

Pre-Race Day Festivities:  On Friday, May 24, 2013 at 6:30 p.m., there will be a pre-race carbo loading dinner. The dinner will be preceded by a race expo.

Post-Race Festivities:  There will be a post-race party, awards ceremony, and slide presentation on Saturday beginning at 6:00 p.m., with plenty of food and beverages for all at Robinson Hall.
