Event description

Description

The annual Implementers Meeting began in 2006 as a way to bring members of the community together during a dedicated amount of time to collaborate, share implementation experiences, and find ways to improve OpenMRS.

Who should attend

  • People new to OpenMRS who want to connect to others using the platform around the world
  • Experienced OpenMRS implementers who want to share their experiences and learn from others
  • OpenMRS platform developers – anyone building systems to integrate with or extend OpenMRS
  • Developers of related health and healthcare application software
  • You!

Why you should attend
This meeting provides an opportunity for developers to collaborate and improve their technical skills in OpenMRS, implementers to share their best practices from implementations, and users to propose and prioritize their top features in future releases of the software. As we introduced last year, the 2013 Implementers Meeting may also include visits to OpenMRS implementation sites along with a discussion afterward for participants to share their experience and suggestions.

Propose session ideas
It’s an unconference, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start thinking about ideas today. Do you want to lead a session? Do you have an idea for what you’d like to see, even if you can’t lead the session?

The hackathon is free to attend. More information about the hackathon will be posted here and at: http://events.openmrs.org/

Organiser OpenMRS Inc.

Organiser of 2013 OpenMRS Implementers Meeting

OpenMRS Inc. is a United States-based non-profit organization that represents the OpenMRS project in legal and financial matters.

The organization's purpose is to support the OpenMRS community in its mission to improve health care delivery in resource-constrained environments, including developing countries; and working with and coordinating a global community to create and support sotware to manage medical records and other health care systems in developing countries and to resource-constrained environments. It aids in creating and distributing OpenMRS by securing cash, hardware, and other donations, then using donations to aid OpenMRS development and promotion.

The organization was originally founded as OpenMRS, LLC, to create a legal entity capable of representing the OpenMRS project. The growing popularity of OpenMRS also made it necessary to establish a thin organizational layer that is capable of handling all legal and financial interests of the OpenMRS community process.
